Team IJA at Kurukshetra
A strong 12-member team, led by its President, S. Sabanayakan, attended the 8th IJU Plenary session at Kurukshetra.
The other members were: Mihir Ganguly, Mrinal K. Biswas, Tarak Nath Roy, Shyamal Kumar Naskar, Madhusudhan Hazra Chowdhury, Tapan Paul, Swapan Mukherjee, Jayanta Dutta, Mithilesh Roy, Sambhu Karmakar, Fatick Shau.
Dr. Sukumar Hansda inaugurates health camp
The Indian Journalists’ Association (IJA), one of the oldest journalists’ bodies in the country and an affiliate of the Indian Journalists’ Union (New Delhi), organised a successful free medical camp for its members and other scribes at the Press Club, Kolkata, on February 7, 2015. More than 150 journalists and members of the IJA participated in the programme where members were put through various tests by the medical team from AMRI Hospitals Limited, Eastern India’s fastest growing Healthcare Brand. The AMRI team, led by Mr. Sombrata Roy, vice-president – growth & development, and a charming Ms. Haimanti Gupta, assistant manager – growth & development, were present to conduct the camp along with two physicians and Para-medical staff.
Majithia Wage Board Recommendations
The recommendations of the Majithia Wage Boards were accepted by the Government of India on 25th October, 2011 and notified vide S.O. no. 2532 (E) dated 11th November, 2011 in the Gazette of India. A copy of the Order is reproduced

92nd AGM 2014
The 92nd annual general meeting of the Indian Journalists’ Association (IJA) will be held on March 23, 2014, at Press Club, Kolkata, from 10 a.m.
IJA Website Launch
As per the decision of the Executive Council Meeting on March 17, 2014, at the IJA Office, a website, http://www.ija.org.in is uploaded and is ready for a launch.
Like the website, the IJA has, for the first time, printed wall calendar which was well received by members and well-wishers.
