S. Sabanayakan and Sekhar Sengupta were elected as the President and General Secretary respectively of the 96-year-old Indian Journalists’ Association (IJA) at the annual general meeting held at Press Club, Kolkata, on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
Mr. Sabanayakan, who headed the organisation for three years from 2013 to 2015, is back at the helm after he was elected unopposed.
Supriyo Bandyopadhyay is the new treasurer.
Sudipta Sengupta and Tarak Nath Roy were retained as vice-presidents. Debasish Das remains the secretary.
Kamlesh Pandey and Abdul Odud are the two assistant secretaries.
